BACKGROUND The Twenty-Second Asian-Pacific Conference on International Accounting Issues will be held on November 7-10, 2010 in Gold Coast, Australia. The Conference will provide an important forum for the interaction of different ideas and information between academicians and practitioners, in order to enhance the understanding of international accounting issues in various countries.
Research paper presentations and special workshops will be held by well-known international accounting scholars and practitioners to discuss issues on international accounting research, education, and practice, impact of advanced technology in international accounting, comparative ethics in international auditing and business, and related international business topics.
Prominent scholars and practitioners from the United States, Canada, Europe, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, China, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, South America, The Middle East, and other countries are expected to attend the conference.
CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS All delegates are invited to attend a plenary session presented by Jane Diplock AO, Chair of both the New Zealand Securities Commission, and of the Executive Committee of IOSCO, as well as member of the Financial Crisis Advisory Group. Jane will present the topic “The Global Financial Architecture: Twenty-First Century Solutions”, followed by panel discussions and a question and answer forum. The plenary session will be held on Monday morning and will precede the concurrent speaker sessions.
Delegates are invited to attend an optional workshop on Sunday, “Publish or Perish: Essential Strategies for Success” for an additional fee of $33. Chaired by Professor Robert Faff, editor of Accounting and Finance, and with a panel of leading published academics, this workshop will be invaluable for developing researchers and doctoral students. The workshop is inclusive of afternoon tea. An optional social networking event will be held on Tuesday evening.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONTRIBUTORS Each contributor is required to submit online a double-spaced copy of the full paper or panel discussion proposal in Microsoft Word for Windows format (Microsoft Word 2003 is the preferred format). For consistency, use a 12-point type font and 1” margins all around. The paper should not exceed 30 pages. Please include a cover page indicating the name, title, affiliation, complete postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number of the author(s). On the cover page, please also indicate the general topic of your paper (e.g. Financial Accounting, Corporate governance…..). Abstracts without full papers will not be considered.
For submission of your paper, please create an account in this website and follow the instructions.
All papers will be subject to a blind review process. The submission of a paper for review means the author certifies that the manuscript is not copyrighted, and has not been published elsewhere. Further, authors of accepted papers will have the choice of publishing either the full paper or an abstract in the conference proceedings (CD-ROM) only if at least one author registers and attends the conference.
Please keep in mind that if you are the co-author of more than 1 paper accepted into the conference, at least 1 of your co-authors of the other papers must register in order to present more than 1 paper at the conference.
All submissions must be received by May 15, 2010. Notification about the decision will be made by June 30, 2010.
