18TH ASIAN-PACIFIC CONFERENCE ON INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTING ISSUES October 15-18, 2006 Maui, Hawaii SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS Home Page: www.apconference.org DEADLINE FOR PAPER SUBMISSION: MAY 15, 2006 The Eighteenth Asian-Pacific Conference on International Accounting Issues will be held on October 15-18, 2006 in Maui, Hawaii. The main theme of the conference is “Corporate Governance and Accountability”. The Conference will provide an important forum for the interaction of different ideas and information between academics and practitioners, in order to enhance the understanding of international accounting issues in various countries.

Who will come: Prominent scholars and practitioners from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, China, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Russia, South Africa and other countries are expected to attend the conference.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER SUBMISSION*
1. Each contributor is required to submit online a double-spaced copy of the full paper or panel discussion proposal in Microsoft Word for Windows format (Windows 95 or higher is the preferred format). For consistency, use a 12-point type font and 1” margins all around. The paper should not exceed 25 pages. Please include a cover page indicating the name, title, affiliation, complete postal address, e-mail address, telephone number and fax number of the author(s). On the cover page, please also indicate the general topic of your paper (e.g. Financial Accounting, Corporate governance…..). Abstracts without full papers will not be considered.
2. For submission of your paper, please go to the conference web site www.apconference.org and submit your paper as an attached file. The paper should not contain any page numbers, headers, and footers.
3. All papers will be subject to a blind review process. The submission of a paper for review means the author certifies that the manuscript is not copyrighted and has not been published elsewhere. Further, abstracts of accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings only if at least one author of the paper registers and attends the conference.
4. All submissions must be received by May 15, 2006. Notification about the decision will be made by June 30, 2006.
5. Once your paper has been accepted you may submit a 1 page abstract that will be published in the conference proceedings. We will provide a hard copy and a CD version of the compiled abstracts at the conference. At the participant’s request, you may have the full version of your paper published on the CD version only. Abstracts in the printed booklet are limited to one page only.
