1. When and where is the Conference taking place?
The 18th Asian-Pacific Conference will be held on October 15-18, 2006, in Maui, Hawaii.

3. What is the theme of the 18th Asian-Pacific Conference?
The main theme of the conference is “Corporate Governance and Accountability”. The Conference will provide an important forum for the interaction of different ideas and information between academicians and practitioners, in order to enhance the understanding of international accounting issues in various countries.

4. How do I register for the 18th Asian-Pacific Conference?

6. What are the Conference registration fees?
Registration fee is $300 (US Dollars) on or before August 15, 2005, $350 (US Dollars) after that date. A special registration fee of $200 (US Dollars) is available to full-time graduate students, ($250 US Dollars after August 15th). Workshops cost $80 each. Please log-in to register online.

7. How do I pay for the conference fees?
Conference fees are payable online via credit card (MasterCard and Visa only) when you register. You may also send a check in the mail to the following address:

8. What does the registration fee include?
The registration fee includes:
• 1 Breakfast
• Welcome Reception
• Two Luncheons
• Gala Dinner (Banquet and entertainment)
• One-day Tour with Lunch
• Copy of the Conference Program and Proceedings

9. What are the important deadlines that I have to observe?
A. Paper Submission Deadline:
All paper submissions must be received by May 15, 2006
B. Conference Registration Deadline:
The Conference Registration fee must be paid by August 15, 2006 to avoid a late fee of $50.
C. Hotel Registration Deadline:
On 1st September 2006 block bookings at hotels are released: the hotels will not hold rooms for APCIAI delegates after this time, and the special rates will not be applicable
D. Cut-off for registrations
The last day to register and have your name and paper included in the Program and Proceedings is August 15, 2006.

10. Can I still register for the Conference if I miss the deadline?
Late registrations are acceptable; however you will be charged a late fee of $50 for registering after August 15, 2006.

11. Can I cancel my Conference Registration?
You can cancel your Conference Registration at any time but please be aware of the following cancellation policy:
- Prior to October 15, 2006: You will be reimbursed minus 10% of conference fees.
- After October 15, 2006: No reimbursement shall be made.

12. How do I get in contact with the hotel?
You can find Hotel Information and download the form once you have logged into our website.

13. How do I make the hotel reservations?
The APCIAI will NOT assume any responsibility for your personal hotel reservations. However, we have negotiated a special rate with the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. Log in and view the Hotel Reservation Form for more information.

14. What is the Conference rate for the Hotel?
Rates for run of house rooms are:
Room Rate: $190.00 per night (Single, or Double Occupancy)

15. Do I need a visa to enter the United States?
It is imperative that you take responsibility yourself for checking whether you need a visa or not. You can do this at
http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov or contact your nearest United States Embassy.

17. Where can I obtain information on sightseeing, weather, food and any other visitor information?
The Internet is a very useful resource in finding tourist information about Hawaii. In order to facilitate your search you can either access a search engine like Google or Yahoo and type in Maui, Hawaii. A useful site that we have found is the Maui Visitor’s Bureau at
